Aim: The objective of the present study was to Comparison of anger rumination and dysfunctional thoughts in students who are children of divorce with and without symptoms of depressive disorder.
Method: The present research method was descriptive and comparative in nature. The target population included all the students, children of divorce, engaged in tehsil at the end of the second secondary school in the city of Arak in the fall and winter of the academic year 2022-2023. The Narcissism Scale by Anger Sukhodolsky et al. (2001), the Dysfunctional Thought Questionnaire by Alexandrou and Bourton (2006) and the Depression Questionnaire by Book (1966) were answered. The data were also analyzed using SPSS-23 statistical software through analysis of variance.
Findings: The results showed that there is a significant difference between the two groups studied in the variables of rumination anger (components after thoughts of anger, thoughts of revenge, memories of anger and identification of causes) and ineffective thoughts (p< 0/05). So that students, children of divorce with symptoms of depression, scale of narcissism, anger and thoughts were more dysfunctional.
Discussion and conclusion: Students with previously divorced parents, by this coincidence, may be more susceptible to psychological problems (such as depression). As a result, it is suggested to the teachers, administrators and parents that in order to prevent or relapse of depression in such people, they should take more into consideration the narcissistic anger and ineffective thoughts in order to prevent possible harm.in such people, they should consider rumination of anger and ineffective thoughts more in order to prevent possible injuries.
