Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of problem-solving-focused cognitive behavioral therapy on rumination in students with aggressive behavior.

Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method (pretest-posttest design and a two-month follow-up period with a control group) to collect data. The research population included junior high school students aged 13 to 15 in Neyshabur city in the academic year 1402-03. 30 students (9 boys and 6 girls) were selected from two schools using convenience sampling. The experimental group underwent cognitive behavioral therapy sessions focused on problem solving. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance with repeated measures.

Results: Statistical analysis of the data showed that cognitive behavioral therapy focused on problem solving had a significant effect on rumination in students with aggressive behaviors (p<0.01).

Conclusion: Given the effectiveness of problem-focused therapy, the use and teaching of problem-based therapy is an important step in reducing factors affecting students' aggression.
