Introduction: Enthusiasm and interest in learning leads to academic progress and awareness of the society, and in this way, promotes social and cultural progress. The aim of the present study was to design and investigate the psychometric properties of the learning motivation scale in gifted school students. Method and Measures: The descriptive research method is factor analysis type. The statistical population included all female students of the second year of secondary school in gifted School of Khorram Abad city, all of whom were selected by census method. Therefore, the sample size was 128 participants. The measures included the Learning Motivation Scale (LMS-39) and Life Satisfaction Scale (SWLS-5). Results: After exploratory analysis, 11 items were removed from the questionnaire due to inappropriate factor loadings, and 28 items formed the final questionnaire. Finally, the psychometric properties were reported to be satisfactory and consistent, and Cronbach's alpha was 0.87. Discussion and conclusion: Therefore, this scale, for research and educational purposes, has the ability to be implemented in the society of Iranian students, with an emphasis on gifted schools.
