Background and Objective: Adolescents and students are the most vulnerable people in stressful factors and this has attracted the attention of researchers and parents; because the teenagers are undergoing physical and mental transformation; Therefore, not paying attention to them can turn into serious psychological problems.
Materials and Methods: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness training on perfectionism and rational behavior among female students in the first year of secondary school in Isfahan. The research method was experimental and quasi-experimental, with two experimental groups and one control group, conducted at two stages: pre-test and post-test. The statistical population included all first-year secondary female students in Isfahan during the 2023-2024 school year. The sample consisted of 60 students from Sarmiyeh and Mehrvarzan schools in district three of Isfahan, selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two groups. The experimental group received Bordrick’s (2014) mindfulness intervention sessions. The data collection tools included the Hewitt and Flett Perfectionism Questionnaire (1991) and the Sherki and Whiteman Rational Behavior Questionnaire (1997).
Results: Mindfulness training had a significant effect on perfectionism and rational behavior among first-year secondary female students. Thus, it can be concluded that mindfulness training is an appropriate method for improving perfectionism and rational behavior in first-year secondary female students in Isfahan.
Conclusion: These results can be used in prevention efforts and to understand the underlying causes and mechanisms of pathology in improving perfectionism and rational behavior.
