[English]

Objective: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the discriminant predictive power of musical intelligence and successful intelligence on wisdom among piano players.
Methods: This research employed a correlational design. The statistical population comprised piano players in Arak city during the 2023 academic year. A sample of 300 piano players was selected. Data collection instruments included the San Diego Wisdom Scale (Thomas et al., 2022), the Successful Intelligence Scale (Grigorenko & Sternberg, 2002), and Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Inventory (Gardner, 1983). For the discriminant analysis, participants were categorized into two groups: 180 individuals with low wisdom and 120 individuals with high wisdom. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 28 software, employing the discriminant analysis method.

Results: The results of the discriminant analysis indicated that musical intelligence and successful intelligence significantly contribute to wisdom. The analysis correctly classified 62% of the participants into groups based on their wisdom levels. Factors such as musical intelligence and successful intelligence were found to be significant predictors of wisdom. Therefore, the wisdom of piano players appears to be influenced by their successful intelligence and musical intelligence.
Conclusion: Musical intelligence encompasses analytical, creative, practical, and wisdom-based components, which are utilized in both composing and performing music. These intelligences also play a role in the understanding and knowledge of music among piano players.
